Black Women Leading works to develop the pipeline and support Black women professionals in public service. It builds upon the success of the Black Women’s Congressional Alliance (BWCA) network. BWL will initially focus on access and recruitment for the federal legislative and executive branches, with a later focus at the state and local levels.

BWL’s charitable purpose is to eliminate prejudice and discrimination in the public service workforce by raising awareness, increasing opportunity, providing support for those who enter public service, and encouraging fair wages and opportunities for advancement.
